It is said that animals have the power to predict the weather and it all started with Punxsutawney Phil – the most popular groundhog in the United States of America. Well, it seems that Phil can foresee the weather and if it sees its shadow but returns to its hole, it means that winter will go on.
But if the famous groundhog doesn’t see its shadow, it means that spring is coming. Thanks to Phil, Since 1887 the United States of America and Canada celebrate Groundhog Day every year on the 2nd February.
Nevertheless, there is speculation that groundhogs are not the only ones who can predict the weather, because there are a lot of animals endowed with this gift and many farmers or meteorologists confirm this hypothesis. So, it’s up to you if you think this is the truth or not!
