Greyhound

The Greyhound dog breed was originally bred to chase hare, foxes, and deer, as they can reach speeds of 40 to 45 miles per hour. Today, Greyhounds also participate in many dog sports and make excellent companions for any type of family. Also, they can get along well with other pets.

Even though they are large dogs, they are not aggressive towards strangers. Although they are quiet and rarely bark, they let you know when a stranger is approaching your house. Designed as sprinters, not distance runners, they don’t need more than a moderate amount of exercise, so they will be satisfied even with a daily walk. However, it is important to remember that Greyhounds do fine in apartments or homes with small yards as well.
