Giant Panda

  • only 1864 left

As the population increases, the number of giant panda habitats has decreased significantly. Vast forests were destroyed by people and because of this, the wide territories occupied by the panda have shrunk more and more over time. This cute animal became a threatened species, being on the verge of extinction. The irony? Humans – the ones who invaded his habitat – have been trying to save the giant panda for many years. As you probably know, the giant panda eats while sitting upright and this position allows it to hold better the bamboo.

The giant panda spends most of its time sleeping and resting. In case you did not know this before, its digestive system is more similar to that of a carnivore than an herbivore, even if it is vegetarian. Female giant panda gives birth to up to two babies (but only one survives) after a gestation period of approximately 180 days after mating.
