Everglades National Park – Florida

With around 1.5 million acres of subtropical wilderness, this park near Florida’s southern tip is abundant with freshwater, seawater, and terrestrial ecosystem species.

Check out crocs and gators, bobcats, dozens of wading birds including flamingos, and maybe even the more elusive manatees and Florida panthers.

There are boardwalks on which to stroll, but to get even more up close and personal with south Florida’s creatures, consider a guided tour, or rent a kayak, canoe, or houseboat from which to explore.
