In some areas of Australia it is legal to own a dingo as a pet. For example, in Queensland it is completely illegal to have a dingo in your household, while in New South Wales no one could stop you from doing this thing.

Dingoes have flexible wrists just like humans and this is why they are different to domesticated dogs. This is the fact that allows them to maneuver more easily into tricky areas and climb trees with more ease than dogs. Other characteristics of dingoes are their ability to turn their head 180 degrees. This helps them to hunt and look out for prey easier.

Dingoes are much more like wolves than dogs, and they don’t bark, but shout like wolves which sounds like a yodel. Their lifespan is about 5-10 years, in captivity they could live for as long as 20 years. The diet consists of eating rabbits, sheep, kangaroos and other wild animals.

If the prey opposes resistance, they feed on other foods. Nevertheless, dingoes eat eggs and birds too! A female gives birth to 5-6 babies at a time, and when the puppies are born the other animals help it to rise the young.
