4. Yorkshire Terrier

Don’t be fooled by their small size, because Yorkshire Terriers have the personality of a big doggo! They enjoy it when everybody treats them as a priority and they don’t like it when you pretend that they’re not in the same room as you.

You might say that they’re greedy because they don’t like to share their owner’s love with anyone else, especially when it’s a cat. Raising a Yorkie and a kitten in the same house might make the dog’s happiness feel attacked. Told you, big personalities in small bodies!

5. Samoyed

…This one is in-between!

Samoyeds are really cute and they love to cuddle, but they might not get along with another furry member of the family: a cat. They will surely love all the human members in the house, but a kitty? That depends. Some of them are really friendly and might have fun spending their day with a cat, while others might think that the kitten is actually their next course of a meal.

Just like humans, each and every dog is different, so it depends on their personality if they will get along with someone else or not. Some experts say that although there might be times when a Samoyed and a kitten are besties, the dog’s instincts and their prey drive could suddenly kick in and you’ll notice your dear cat run for their life.

6. Shih Tzu

The Shih Tzu is known for being a glamorous little pooch, also named the “Chinese Lion Dog”. They are really good at showering their owners with lots of love and attention, but here’s the catch: they expect the same affection and appreciation back. Could their favorite humans give them all of these if they spend time with a cat? Probably not.

Even though they get along with other animals, they don’t like to share their home or their owners’ love with any other pets, especially with a kitty. They will get jealous and upset, but they won’t hurt anyone. They will suffer and miss your attention, that’s why they need a bit of time to adjust to a new family member. Unless you don’t have plenty of time to show your love to both your cat and your pup, it might be better to not put these two together.
