…Have you ever noticed any clingy behaviors in your dog?

We are the center of the universe for our beloved pups, so it’s not such a big surprise that they love us with all their hearts and that they’re also willing to do whatever it takes to protect us from different things.

However, if you’ve noticed that your pooch follows you everywhere you go (including the moment when you go to the bathroom for no more than 1 minute), they always stay by your side or they don’t move unless you move, you might have a “Velcro” dog.

This means that your pooch is clingy and they don’t know how to stay alone or how to leave you some space to breathe. So if you’re in doubt about if your pup is clingy or not, here’s how to find out:

  1. I have 2 GSD. My female is 6 she had separation anxiety when we first brought her home it got significantly worse when she was attacked by the pit Bull next door to us shortly after. It has improved so much it’s hardly noticeable now except in a situation like when we moved where it’s perfectly normal. I thought she was the epitome of Velcro dog, she follows me everywhere except the shower she permits me to do that by myself while she lays outside the bathtub but that’s it. Probably only because she hates bathes lol. My male however can’t be outdone he has to be over the top when it comes to everything. He flips out like I’m killing him if I don’t let him escort and chaperone me while I use the bathroom. He thinks That’s his chest rub time. He isn’t afraid of the shower either he climbs right in and demands a drink or 10 from the shower head on the off chance he isn’t thirsty he had to peak around the shower curtain every couple of min to make sure I didn’t escape when he wasn’t looking. He doesn’t chew anything he isn’t supposed too when I’m not home he uses the time I’m away to sleep so he’s fully energized and ready to play ball from the time I get home from work until I tell him it’s bedtime. He is truly the biggest mamas boy I’ve ever seen. He used to fall asleep with my hand in his mouth like a baby does a pacifier but now he has a favorite stuffed toy he uses instead. Now he only uses my hand when he gets scared. I can’t help but find it adorable though.
