Ocicat

This beautiful and loving cat breed ranges in size from 12 to 15 pounds, which makes it a large cat breed. “The original parent breeds were the Abyssinian and the Siamese, and later American Shorthair,” says Keiger.

If you want to adopt this large cat breed, it’s important to know that they are very playful, active and affectionate animals that require a lot of attention. Moreover, they are just like dogs, so they will trail your footsteps around the house and ask you for petting and cuddling. They love to be surrounded by people, as they are generally social felines.

According to animal experts, this loving and friendly cat breed is perfect for families with children and other pets. They are also easy to train.

  1. If I had my choice, I would want to own a Norwegian Forest Cat. One thing that this article does not mention, they are good for persons who suffer allergies to cat dander. It is really the saliva of the cat that triggers the allergies. Cats are territorial and mark their their territories with their saliva. The enzymes that trigger allergies are quite low in this cat.

I had a Maine coon here in Omaha NE his name was Cesar, the vet checked him out and said you have a very, very rare cat he had Red Telzar on his skin had he was gorgeous cat. We had him 10 yrs before he passed away. I really miss him it’s been 46 yrs since I held him.

  3. Please don’t promote these “Breed” cats. Thousands of cats are euthanized everyday….we don’t need more. Millions of cats live as stray and feral. They live lives of starvation, disease and suffering. Please promote spaying/neutering of cats andadopting from shelters/rescues. Please do not encourage breeding.
