Is there anything cuter than seeing a ball of fluff walk down the street with their owner? Well, obviously! To have one yourself! But which are the cutest, and fluffiest dog breeds out there? Don’t worry, we have gathered some of them here! And even if you do not plan on getting a fluffy friend, these little friends are bound to make your day better!

Don’t believe us? Have a look over our list and see for yourself. Just make sure to let us know which one of them you’d love to snuggle with and why! Who knows, maybe you have one of these cuties at home already!

Chow chow

Known for their fur looking like the mane of a lion, these fluffy babies are some of the cutest puppies out there! Together with their peculiar colored tongue (yes, it’s supposed to be blue), you cannot help but want to hug them all day long! They truly live up to their name as bear dogs, with how close they resemble a teddy bear.

But did you know that they have a not so floofy counterpart? It doesn’t seem possible for such furballs to not be soft and snuggly, but the smooth-coated Chow is their less fluff cousin (who is actually covered in wrinkles)!

Old English Sheepdog

Similar to another breed on the list, the Old English Sheepdog was one of the most iconic breeds, as people could easily recognize it on the street or in pictures. Still, this big, long-haired doggy is so fluffy you cannot miss it: be it in the streets or in movies and animations, the old English sheepdog is still iconic (even appearing in Disney’s The Little Mermaid as the Prince’s lively dog).

Looking at them you can almost envision it: being at a chalet in the mountain with such a fluffy dog. Wouldn’t you love to lay down together with it on the rug?

Samoyed

This puppy is just the personification of a cloud. Being so fluffy it resembles a cotton ball, the surprising thing about the Samoyed’s fur is that it is dirt and water-resistant – you can easily just let the dirt dry and comb it off most of the time and they shouldn’t be given a full bath more than once a year. Otherwise, a rinse will be enough to keep them and their fluffy fur in the same bright white color.

As expected, they shed like there’s no tomorrow when they change fur between seasons. However, they are amazing at self-grooming and their fur is hypoallergenic: no allergy attacks here. Everyone can enjoy the presence of these cute babies.

Shetland sheepdog

No, you are not looking at a toy Collie. Though they look alike, the Shetland Sheepdog is nothing like the Collie (we all love Lassie though). These cute dogs are also known as Shelties, and they originate from the Shetland Islands in Ireland.

Their multi-colored coat is the first thing that attracts everyone’s attention and what is amazing, is that it is similar to the one of the Samoyed. Their fur is water and dirt resistant. This is extremely important as they were primarily used as sheepdogs: hearing cattle and sheep around in the Irish climate. Nowadays these friendly furry babies bring joy to many families.

Bearded Collie

The one breed on the list that is similar to the Old English Sheepdog, the Bearded Collie has a thick coat that can change color. As they age the color of their fur will get lighter. If anything, we think that this dog was going for the ombre hair before we decided it was cool.

We can see why people would compare them with the Old English Sheepdog. Yet, their similarities stop at the fact that their fur color is similar! They are still adorable balls of fluff, and we would love to snuggle with one.

Newfoundland

Despite them being one of the fluffiest dogs out there, there is not much known about the Newfoundland breed: some believe that they could be descendants of the mastiff or that the Vikings could have brought them to North America in their voyages. We will never know how they got to Newfoundland, but one thing is sure! We are glad they did.

The Newfies are very friendly, and they love water, which is why they used to be very popular with fishermen. Guess what? Their coats are also water resistant!

Pomeranian

It’s impossible not to have seen a fluffier than anything else Pomeranian in your life. These little dogs are so fluffy that they are sometimes glorified floor dusters. However, do not be fooled by their size and adorableness: they are descendants of Iceland sled dogs. This makes their fur engineered by nature to deal with freezing temperatures, which in turn makes them little lap heaters.

They are just adorable and extremely loyal (try crossing someone with a Pomeranian, the little ones are feisty). What else could you want from this furball?

Bichon Frise

Another breed that you couldn’t have missed before. The Bichon Frise is one of the most popular smaller dog breeds. And we cannot fault people for loving them. Just look at how adorable they are! Even so, they come with a personality that is definitely bigger than their size: the Bichon Frise is quite a sassy little one.

Despite not being the shedding machine that the Samoyed is, you still have to groom the Bichon Frise regularly: those cute curls that they have need to be untangled by any loose fur they may leave behind.
