Chihuahua
At a mere 5 to 6 pounds, Chihuahuas stand as one of the healthiest dog breeds, as well. They have plenty of personality and spunk and can also live from anywhere between 12 to a whopping 18 years old.
Happy to be snuggled on your lap, carried around, or bouncing around the house, they’re loveable dogs that remain generally content and healthy when cared for properly.
Just remember that even though tiny pups like chihuahuas are less likely to deal with health issues common in big dogs like hip dysplasia or bloat, the Chihuahua Club of America states that owners are encouraged to work with veterinarians to keep an eye out for cardiac issues and eye conditions, especially in older dogs.
Siberian Husky
Siberian Huskies are known to be working dogs that aren’t afraid to speak their minds… Sometimes even too much! This breed is usually intelligent and friendly, but remember that they can also be very strong-willed.
They need a ton of mental stimulation and exercise to stay happy and healthy. And you should be aware that Huskies may be prone to cataracts, too.
