Queensland Whistling Tarantula
The Queensland whistling tarantula, also known as Selenocosmia crassipes, is a dangerous species of tarantula that can be found in Queensland, Australia. Their name comes from their ability to make a whistle-like noise when threatened or provoked. Its body length (without legs) can reach up to 9 cm (3.5 in.) and according to animal experts, they are the largest Australian tarantula.Â
It seems that their venom is not fatal to humans, but it can cause severe health complications, such as vomiting for up to eight hours.
