Giant fluffs with a big heart. Newfoundland dogs are very big and heavy dogs, a male can weigh up to 150 pounds!! They have a majestic pose and they are very friendly, soft and loving.
Opposed to their great and sometimes intimidating appearance, they really are harmless and sweaty. At least once a week you should take your time and brush them since they have heavy and thick fur.
They are highly intelligent and very curious pets. You should take them to training classes and if you want them to learn how to swim you should consider introducing them to water when they are just a few months old.
You instantly fall in love with this next ball of fluff…..

I am an owner of my 2nd Bichon Frise. The first one had oxalate acid crystals. Had to give him prescription food all of his 15yrs of life. I prefer male dogs. My second one is healthy but grouchy in his 17th year. Hard to get grooming and boarding for him because he doesn’t like to be picked up anymore.😥

About the ONLY one i would come close to agreeing with would be the Labrador and only a Yellow one as the rest have been overbred. I have owned almost all of the previously mentioned dogs over my many years and most I would definitely not trust with children, read grand children! I had a Newfie that was the love of my life, the only problem was he wanted to EAT everyone not related, they are not for pets, they are working dogs!

Good list but you didn’t include the best of the best breed — golden doodle!! Smart, gentle,
loving and very peaceful. Ours lasted 16 years until she passed 3 yrs ago. Broken hearts but memories forever!!!
