English Bulldogs
Although the English Bulldog was already massive-looking, nowadays its chest is even wider while the legs are shorter. Also, today’s bulldogs have more skin hanging. Unfortunately, their number is continuously dropping.
Basset Hound
Crazy as it may seem, the ears of the Basset Hound are even longer now than they used to be! As for other special features, the legs are shorter and the skin has more folds as well.
Bull Terrier
One of the most important differences nowadays regard the skull shape, which is definitely unrecognizable! Nobody can explain the reason behind this evolution, but the body is lower as well.
German Shepherd
Longer fur, longer bodies and more entertainment? I’m in for the new German Shepherd!
Saluki (Persian Greyhound)
As time passed by, Salukis became taller and even thinner than before. This is probably because of their need to run faster, as they have much longer legs.
Dachshund
The bodies of dachshunds nowadays are longer, just like their faces. Hilariously enough, the legs are even shorter, turning this breed into an overly-cute pet!
Airedale Terrier
This breed almost hasn’t changed except for becoming ‘shaggier’ and longer in the face.
Irish Setter
This is one of the few dog breeds that didn’t suffer significant changes over the past 150 years. If you look closey though, you may notice that they’re just a bit thinner now.
Doberman Pinscher
These dogs have become a little less massive, and their head is more smooth now. By the way, they are not as aggressive as they used to be years ago.
Boxer
The Boxers have shorter and upturned faces now. The proportions of the body have slightly changed too.
