Border Collie
Sired as herding dogs, Border Collies are always energetic and require regular exercise. They actually enjoy having a job that provides both mental and physical stimulation.
After all, they’re one of the most intelligent dog breeds around. And even though border collies are overall healthy dogs, don’t forget that they’re also predisposed to a few genetic disorders, including Collie eye anomaly.
Tips for keeping your dog healthy
Like humans, the lifestyles of dogs play a huge role in keeping them healthy. As pet parents, we can do a few things to prolong the lives of our beloved pooches. Here are a few examples:
-Exercise: It’s a fantastic way to combat obesity and allows your pup to ease into their senior years without the added stress weight puts on their body.
-Vet Care: Yearly checkups mean vets can catch the beginning of any hereditary diseases… or prevent them altogether.
-Diet: Be mindful of what you’re feeding your dog. The Association of American Feed Control Officials says that a healthy diet must have 6 nutrients: water, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fat, and protein.
