Steller’s sea eagles breed only in eastern Russia, around the Sea of Okhotsk and on the Kamchatka Peninsula. A small number of birds remain in Kamchatka over the winter but the majority fly south to the Kuril Islands, Russia and Hokkaidō, Japan.
