Dogs are easy to train, but if you want to domesticate a fox, you have to work hard because they are difficult to train and socialize, especially because they are shy creatures. Thus, although it may be cool to have a fox as a pet, they are still difficult to maintain and train – not to mention that it’s illegal to own a pet fox in the United States. In other words, dogs have evolved over thousands of years and are able to live and communicate with humans, and this is a feature that can’t yet be found in foxes.
