  • Phobia: fear of dolphins – also known as ‘Delfiniphobia’

Tyra Banks is an American television personality, actress, businesswoman who started her career as a Victoria’s Secret model from 1997 to 2005. Banks suffers from an unusual specific phobia that causes her panic attacks, irrational fear and anxiety when she sees… dolphins!

I wonder how anyone can be scared of dolphins which are some of the cutest, most intelligent animals in the world? Well, anything is possible when we suffer certain unpleasant or traumatic events or when we have a well-developed imagination since childhood.

And this theory can be found even in Tyra Banks’ case as well. She apparently developed this phobia when she was only 8 years old and imagined that she was being attacked by dolphins in a swimming pool.
