Bedlington Terrier
- Dog breed group: terrier dogs
- Weight: 17 to 23 pounds
- Life span: 14 to 16 years
The Bedlington Terrier was originally bred to hunt vermin, but nowadays they make excellent companions. They also excel in the show ring. It’s no secret that the Bedlington Terrier loves to be the center of attention, so they prefer to be the only pet in the family. They are very affectionate creatures, playful and intelligent. In general, they can get along with everyone, but due to their strong sense of intuition, they can detect when someone has bad intentions.
They can adapt to any living conditions, whether you live in an apartment or a large house, but you have to provide them with plenty of exercise. If you want to have a happy and healthy dog, then you should definitely help them to consume their energy through daily exercise and mental stimulation.
In addition, they tend to be aggressive with other dogs, especially other adults of the same gender. Hence, try to be cautious when introducing new pets to your family. Even though they are purebred dogs, you can find them at animal shelters as well.
