Chow Chow

  • Dog breed group: working dogs
  • Weight: 40 to 70 pounds
  • Life span: 12 to 15 years

The Chow Chow dog breed is not only fluffy, but their tongue is also blue, which makes them unique and beautiful. They are smart, loving and adaptable, so they can live even in an apartment, but they need plenty of exercise and don’t like to be left alone at home for too long.

Even if they have large bodies and look like a lion, they are not aggressive at all (of course, if they are socialized and trained properly, like any dog breed). They can be great companions even for families with children, but only with kids that know how to treat dogs, as they won’t tolerate abuse.

When it comes to their coat, it is essential to brush it two or three times a week if you want to keep it in good condition.

Nevertheless, before adopting a pet, whether we are talking about dogs, cats and so on, try to educate yourself about the breed that you will choose and its characteristics, talk to people who already own such a pet, and make sure that you can afford raising one, as they require some maintenance costs. Not to mention that they need constant care, attention and affection.
