Old English Sheepdog
- Dog breed group: herding dogs
- Weight: 60 to 90 pounds
- Life span: 10 to 12 years
The Old English Sheepdog dog breed was originally developed to herd sheep and cattle to the market, but nowadays, they can make excellent pets, being able to compete in obedience, agility and herding trials.
They are affectionate with all their family members, and even if they are large dogs, they can do well even in apartments, but only if you provide them with enough exercise every day. They are certainly large dogs, but their coat makes them appear even larger. You need to brush them regularly, as their coat is prone to matting.
