They teach kids responsibility
According to the American Pet Product Association’s 2011-2012 National Pet Owners Survey, 58 percent of pet owners admit that their pets help teach their children to be more responsible.
In general, kids get involved in raising pets along with their parents. They will usually alert you when the dog needs food and water and help you groom the pet. Plus, they will also be more active, as they will walk the dog daily and play various games together.
In addition, animal experts say that if you let your kid walk the dog, you should make sure that they know how to handle the leash and that the dog listens to their commands.
